TO THE QUEEN, A PIN AND THE BEAR
Charismatic and self-deprecating queen, introduces himself to his people by taking tea with the famous teddy bear. His platinum jubilee video appearance is really nice. On the other hand, His Majesty is not new to these apparitions. On the occasion of the London Olympics he proposed to James Bond and then "jumped" from the helicopter with a parachute. On every public occasion, the Queen showed off her colorful suits; adorning it all with earrings, necklace and the inevitable brooch. Queen Elizabeth II, owns a large collection of pins; the form, the colors of the stones, but above all the sentimental meaning that His Majesty gives them, they are a loud and silent message. The ones worn for the jubilee, they are definitely a favorite. With Paddington Bear, sported the Cullinan V Heart Brooch over a decidedly flirty floral dress; also for the last birthday of the beloved Prince Philip, she wore it not with a pastel dress, but on a fabulous floral dress . Elizabeth II, she inherited the precious brooch from her grandmother Mary. The story that surrounds this beautiful jewel is truly unique. At the time of the discovery in 1905, the rough diamond was "3160 carats". The state of South Africa, it was part of the British Empire and Mr Thomas Cullinan's mine was in that region. At the political level there were many difficulties; naturally they were overcome with diplomatic interventions that pushed the South African government, after dividing the diamond into 9 leave to donate the V to the British crown.
La regina Mary, she was delighted and gave the court goldsmith the task of creating the jewel. The heart-shaped brooch, it has a design of diamonds and platinum converging in the center where the Cullinan V shines in all its beauty. Her Majesty's winning combination is simply enchanting; a teddy bear with a tender heart, her platinum jubilee and favorite brooch encapsulating her love of the British people.
THE PIN IN TIME
From the Bronze Age onwards, it slowly changed shape, the technique and material used to make the brooch. Gold and ivory were used by the Cretans to forge pins, with shapes inspired by the animal and vegetable kingdom. For the ancient Romans, lovers of caste privileges,it was a jewel that stopped the toga on the shoulder. At the same time, the East is a hotbed of talent; the Byzantine era is famous for the spectacular workmanship dedicated to the brooch. Continuing in the time path to reach us, the goldsmith artists have incessantly experimented with techniques to combine precious stones and metals in authentic masterpieces.
MY POINT OF VIEW
I personally love all brooches unconditionally, I know it's weird but that's how it is. Big and small, with traditional shapes or with unusual details; in precious metals and stones or vintage costume jewelery I still find them irresistible. There is always an occasion to wear them, a little frivolity during the day makes everything very pleasant. Open the casket and choose from those so different shapes and materials that smell of history, it's intoxicating. A sensory experience to share with friends and customers, fascinated like me by these fantastic masterpieces created to give the wearer, moments of pure happiness.
